How much does it cost?
The program is entirely free. It is a service to businesses and their employees from United Way of Northeast Georgia.
What type of time commitment from me or my staff is involved?
All coordination is handled completely by United Way representatives. All that is needed is a contact person to answer questions via email or phone regarding break room set-up, employee numbers, and employee break times.
What resources do we need to provide?
The event simply requires access to employees during break or lunch. We can accommodate multiple break rooms, staggered shifts, and unusual hours. Access to a
power outlet would be helpful, but not absolutely necessary.
How does this program increase employee morale?
Every working person has to deal with the challenging issue of balancing work and personal life issues. Research has shown that the most successful businesses have recognized and addressed this tension. By providing the opportunity for employees to take care of personal matters during down-time at work, employers help reduce employee stress and related productivity concerns. In addition, the resulting increase in employee morale is attributed directly to business leadership . fostering greater loyalty and trust.
Why is it important for me to be concerned with my employees' personal life situations?
There is a direct correlation between stress and low productivity. Therefore, programs designed to decrease employee stress will help improve employee productivity.
Will this event result in a loss of production that day?
No! The event can be tailored to correspond with regular break and lunch times,
with access ending when the break is over.
Will participation result in having to contribute to United Way?
Absolutely not! This program is a service to the community through the United Way Success by 6 Program. Our goal is simply to improve the lives of young children by improving the lives of their caregivers.
What, specifically, happens at the event?
Depending on the size of your break room, representatives from various nonprofit agencies providing health, community, and social services will set up booths, provide information, and answer questions of employees. Raffles and giveaways will create a festive environment. At every event, laptop computers housing the entire 211 information & referral database of community services will be manned by trained staff to provide instant contact information to agencies providing help for any need. Employees wishing to find fulfillment through volunteer work will also be able to receive contact information for agencies that need them.
